For now, the Bulletin Board - like much of the site - is still under construction. Please view the "About Me" section to learn, well, about me. There is a link to my e-mail address at the bottom of this page, as well as at left. I encourage you to e-mail me as much as you need to. I also encourage you to e-mail each other.

The "Poetry" link at left will allow you to download the poems for our poetry unit this semester. If you missed a poem, or simply want a copy, just click on the link and the file will begin downloading.

We will begin our journey into the world of Shakespeare with his most well-known play, Romeo & Juliet. If you've seen the Leonardo di Caprio version, you may already know a good amount about the play.

Useful useless knowledge

In the future, there may be some interesting quotes or concepts here that you may respond to if you wish. For now, I will just post two questions. Maybe your first small assignment will be to respond to one of these questions in an e-mail. This way, I can get you all used to e-mailing, and I will learn your e-mail addresses.

1. If time travel were possible, you could conceivably go back in time and kill your grandfather. However, if you killed your grandfather you wouldn't exist in the future in order to travel back in time to do this hanus act. This is known as the Grandfather Paradox. Some scientists believe that there would be some unknown force preventing you from altering the past and thus altering the future. Others believe that parallel universes exist which hold different pasts and futures. What do you think?

2. What do you think is the most powerful weapon of warfare? Some would say nuclear weapons, others might insist on germ warfare. Perhaps, as history might indicate, it is the written word. The declaration of independence was the first fired shot of our American Independence. What do you think?
